I saw some beautiful heirloom winter squash, during the fall, on a trip to Whole Foods, One type was literally huge. I decided to buy it and it turned out to be delicious! Since it was an heirloom I saved the seeds. Heirloom seeds will grow a plant exactly like the original so I wanted to try this in my garden this year. If I am successful I will have very large winter squash, that taste good and store well. We use winter squash to make lots of pies, vegetable soups and pureed squash soup which is delicious on a cold winter day. I am hoping that it is robust, resistant to pests and covers a lot of my garden with these gorgeous squash!
